How has Manchester contributed to Expo 2030?

As part of EXPO 2030, an independent coffee shop in the centre of the city has installed Wind Turbines on the roof of their building. Enough energy is generated to power the whole building. Excess energy is sold to the electricity supplier.

A great example of Sustainable Evolution is the Beetham Tower in Manchester. It was redesigned to incorporate wind turbines within the structure. Additionally, all glass windows were replaced with newly developed transparent solar cells. The modern tower is shown behind the 150 year old steam railway company offices and warehouses.

The Church of England added a large solar panel onto each side of the Manchester Cathedral tower. The project intends to inspire Sustainable Revolution through this environmentally sustainable addition to an architectural design spanning over 600 years.

Manchester City Council installed a Wind Turbine onto the roof of the iconic circular Central Library building. The council aim to inspire similar projects as part of their Sustainable Future plan which is part of EXPO 2030.
